1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Window Orbit for Mac ("the Application", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by XrayMac, handles information when you install and use the software on macOS.

We believe privacy is a fundamental human right. Window Orbit is designed as a standalone, native desktop utility that functions entirely locally on your computer without relying on external cloud services.

2. Window Thumbnails and Screen Capture

To render 3D previews of your open windows, macOS requires the Screen Recording permission. Here is exactly how this data is handled:

• Volatile Memory Only: Window thumbnails are captured temporarily in local Mac volatile RAM (memory) solely for displaying the interactive cards in the HUD.
• Never Saved to Disk: Thumbnails are never saved as files on your storage drive or written to any cache on disk.
• Never Transmitted: Window Orbit contains no networking code for screen data. Zero bytes of visual data ever leave your Mac.
• Immediate Disposal: As soon as you release Option+Tab and the switcher closes, thumbnail memory is recycled by macOS.

3. Keyboard Shortcuts and Accessibility

Window Orbit requires the Accessibility permission to provide global window switching:

• Shortcut Interception: The app uses macOS CoreGraphics Event Taps (CGEventTap) strictly to detect the user's custom activation shortcut (by default, Option + Tab).
• Zero Keylogging: The app does not log, record, store, or analyze keystrokes. Key events are examined solely for the designated modifier chord and passed through untouched.
• Window Management: Accessibility APIs (AXUIElement) are used solely to raise and activate the window you choose when you release Option.

4. Browser Tab Information

If you enable the optional Browser Tab Switching feature in Preferences, Window Orbit uses native AppleScript to read the titles and URLs of open tabs in supported browsers (Safari, Chrome, Brave, Arc, Edge).

This information is read strictly on your local machine to render distinct cards for browser tabs. It is never logged, stored, or transmitted over any network.

5. Payment Processing & License Keys

Upgrading to Window Orbit Pro is processed securely through trusted third-party payment processors:

• Direct Purchases: Handled securely via Stripe. Your payment card information is processed directly by Stripe on their encrypted servers. Window Orbit and XrayMac never see or store your credit card or financial credentials.
• Mac App Store: Purchases are handled directly by Apple's StoreKit and governed by Apple's App Store Terms and Privacy Policy.
• Email Addresses: When purchasing through Stripe, your email is used solely to deliver your Pro license key and receipt. We never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.

6. Third-Party Libraries and SDKs

The Window Orbit native macOS application contains:

• Zero third-party analytics libraries (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Firebase).
• Zero advertising SDKs or tracking pixels.
• Zero crash-reporting frameworks that phone home without permission.

7. Your Rights under GDPR and CCPA

Because Window Orbit does not collect, process, or store personal data on remote servers, there is no remote personal profile, tracking identifier, or data history associated with your usage. You retain full control over your machine and can revoke permissions or uninstall the application at any time.
